Memories of The Happiest Place on Earth … Disney World
We love to visit the Happiest Place on Earth….Disney World. My husband and I have taken our daughter that we adopted at the age of six, 8 times over the last 10 years. This current year of 2013 we changed it up a little bit and stayed Disney, but went on a cruise.
Why we love Disney (besides that it’s Disney) is from the moment you arrive you feel happy, worry free, and almost like a kid again. Whether it is for a day, a week, or more when you arrive at Disney the rest of the things outside of Disney are forgotten. The people are friendly and it is top notch on the cleanliness no matter where you go.
My parents first took me to Disney World when I was six and then again when I was 10. It is a great family vacation that builds many fond memories. What I remember most about my first trip was space mountain. Back then they had seats that you just sat down in and I was in front of my mother, she hung onto me so tight I was sure to have burst at any second. It was great and scary at the same time as the ride took you though darkness into flashes of light, with great speed.
I have since been back on Space Mountain a couple times over the years and the seats have changed to much safer technology, but as I have gotten older I understand why my mother held so tight to me that day! Moving through the dark is pretty cool, but very different than being able to tell where you are going. My daughter loves this ride so much that on our last trip, the World was the busiest we had ever seen, as it was during Christmas break she was willing to stand in line for 2 ½ hours for this classic Tomorrowland ride.
My second trip as a kid we went to Epcot.
This was in its first couple years of being open. Epcot did not make a huge impression on me I have to admit. My favorite part at that time wasFi gment! Oh how I loved the Figment ride and experience.
Now as an adult I have to say Epcot is one of my favorite parks at the World.
Epcost now has added a lot more ride experiences like Test Track and Soarin’ that are some of the best rides to be found throughout the parks. If you are traveling with kids and they are old enough I recommend going single rider on Test Track it is much fast way to go.
Soaring can be a bit of a wait so I recommend trying to get a fast pass as soon as you get to the park. During our trip during Christmas break last year soarin’ fast passes were already gone when we arrived at the park and there was 3 hour wait so we decided to skip it.
Exploring the different countries is enjoyable as we seem to find something new each time we visit that we hadn’t seen befo
Figment is still my favorite after all these years! I have passed that love down to my daughter and I believe her stuffed Figment has made almost all of our trips to Disney!
If you go to Epcot you have to make the nightly show a must on your to do list! It is just the best! Make sure you have comfortable shoes as this is a very large park to cover.
All families should try to take at least one family trip to the World before your children are grown. Our daughter is now 16 and we all still love Disney and are always looking forward to our next vacation. I have a lot I can talk about for advice and will add more in my next writing. Till next time :-)
